Summary Petition for a temporary and conditional exemption from WAC 80-30-213 (2), Vehicles and drivers, and WAC 480-30-456, Fair use of customer information, to permit the company to operate its "rescue service" (using independent contractors) to supplement its shared ride service to and from SeaTac International Airport through the holiday period beginning on December 13, 2013, and ending on January 15, 2014.

  • 12/12/2013 -- Approved (Commissioner Goltz moved to approve the petition of Shuttle Express, Inc., in this docket subject to the conditions stated in Paragraph 33 of the petition with the following changes and additions: On Paragraph K, it should read to the effect that the insurance must be obtained covering the contractor for rescue trips for the same amount of coverage required by the Commission for Shuttle Express, and in addition, the insurance provided by the contractor; Second, that the conditions and any violation of any of the conditions by the contractor would be violations of this order by Shuttle Express; that Shuttle Express be required to keep records sufficient to show compliance with this order and its conditions, and file a report no later than February 1, 2014 on the operations of the rescue service authorized by this order; this rescue service is authorized to commence upon the compliance with all the conditions, but no earlier than December 15, 2013, ending on January 15, 2014, and also to maintain proof of insurance, record of drug testing, at the offices of Shuttle Express and be made available to commission staff; and that there be a written handout to be distributed by the independent contractors to customers using the rescue service that explain this service, and that it is being operated by Shuttle Express; and the language of that handout should be submitted to and approved by staff before the rescue service commences; and this petition is not subject to renewal after the expiration of the authorization.
