Less than statutory notice request to make tariff revisions that would generate approximately $469,000 (2.4 percent) additional annual revenue to recover the increased cost of disposal fees set by Pierce County Recycling, Composting & Disposal dba LRI. On March 1, 2019, disposal fees will increase from $157.38 per ton to $164.34 per ton at the Pierce County solid waste system facilities. Pierce County Refuse serves approximately 57,300 garbage customers in Pierce County. Also, for customers residing on Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), the disposal fee will increase from $107.83 to $112.64 per ton, which would generate approximately 23,800 (1.8 percent) in additional annual revenue. Pierce County Refuse serves approximately 4,900 customers on JBLM. The company's last general rate increase became effective on November 1, 2011. |
