Summary: Less than statutory notice request of Tariff revisions for Waste Management South Sound that would generate approximately $402,000 (4.4 percent) additional annual revenue to recover the increased cost of disposal fees set by the King County. On January 1, 2023, disposal fees will increase from $168.68 per ton to $150.83 per ton plus an additional fixed annual charge of $34.45 per ton as reflected in Title 10 of the King County Solid Waste Code. Also includes Tariff revisions and request to retain up to 50 percent of the revenue received for the sale or recyclable commodities in accordance with the King County Revenue Sharing Plan, and a $0.84 increase (credit decrease from $1.02 to $0.18) per month for recycling customers in King County. This filing also includes the new revenue sharing plan to begin January 1, 2024, with King County. The Company serves approximately 17,700 garbage, recycling, and yard waste customers in King County. The Company’s last general rate case became effective March 1, 2021.
