Summary: Petition for an exemption from WAC 480-07-520 and proposed general rate increase that would generate approximately $400,000 (5.5 percent) additional annual revenue to recover the increased cost of disposal fees set by King County. On January 1, 2017, disposal fees will increase from $120.17 per ton to $134.59 per ton at the King County Landfill. In King County, the monthly commodity credit for residential customers would decrease from $1.13 to $0.62, a rate increase of $0.51 per month, and the monthly commodity credit for multi-family customers would decrease from $0.25 to $0.14 per yard, a rate increase of $0.11 per yard. The company also seeks to be allowed to retain up to 47.5 percent (King County) and 45 percent (Snohomish County) of the revenue received from the sale of recyclable materials during the plan period.
